Zlatan Ibrahimovic claims ‘a World Cup without me wouldn’t be a World Cup’ after hinting he will play for Sweden this summer.

Ibrahimovic retired from international football after Euro 2016, but Sweden’s victory over Italy in the playoffs for the upcoming World Cup has given the former Juventus, Inter and Milan striker second thoughts.

“I’m going to the World Cup, yes,” the LA Galaxy hitman told The Jimmy Kimmel Show.

“I just said I’m going to the World Cup. If I say more, people will hang me so I have to be careful what I say now.

“A World Cup without me wouldn’t be a World Cup.”

The 36-year-old also tweeted on Sunday that the chances of him playing at the Russian showpiece were ‘sky-high’.
