James Pallotta insists Roma have nothing to do with the arrests of nine people connected to the construction of the club’s new stadium.

Among those detained for alleged corruption are Stadio della Roma contractor Luca Parnasi, but Pallotta assured the Giallorossi were ‘strangers’ to the controversy and that there was no reason for any further delays.

“I don’t see why this should concern us with regards to the stadium,” the President told reporters.

“Am I concerned? No. Like it’s been officially said, Roma have nothing to do with it.  All of this will have no influence on the stadium.

“Should the fans be worried that I could sell the club? I never said that, only in case of delays, and I don’t see why there should be any, since Roma have done nothing wrong.

“If it doesn’t go ahead you can come and find me in Boston, but I don’t see why this should halt the project.

“I don’t know about everything that’s going on, I only read it in the Press, but Roma are strangers to all this.

“From my point of view, Roma have nothing to do with it. We’ll still build the stadium. Everyone wants the stadium, so let’s build it.

“Everything had to be transparent, Raggi said everything would be okay and it was. We shouldn’t have problems. We’ll revisit it soon.

“I had a great holiday, barring the last two hours. Have I heard from anyone? I don’t think Parnasi has a mobile phone in prison. I haven’t talked to anyone.”
