Tuttosport and AS claim Juventus and agent Jorge Mendes are laying the groundwork for a shock Cristiano Ronaldo transfer to Turin.

Their theory is that agent Mendes worked on the Joao Cancelo deal, completed this week from Valencia for €40m, and ended an 11-year feud with the Juve hierarchy.

With their rapport now smoothed over, and CR7 seeking new challenges after Real Madrid won the Champions League three years running, the Old Lady would be an interesting adventure for the Ballon d’Or.

After seven consecutive Serie A titles, the Bianconeri have to focus on ending their 23-year Champions League drought.

Their main target this summer has been Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, but Cristiano Ronaldo would represent a transformative figure for their global status.

If Lazio want at least €120m for the Serbian, then Juve could instead try to splash out on a fully-formed living legend.

Tuttosport are, it’s worth noting, not the most reliable source for transfer news and do tend to go overboard, especially on Juve rumours.
