Lazio and Italy striker Ciro Immobile was threatened by a man armed with a knife while on vacation with his family.
According to the reports in Il Messaggero and Mediaset, Immobile was with his family and friends on the beach in Francavilla al Mare, close to Chieti.
The man approached, had an argument with some of Immobile’s friends and then tried to attack the group with a knife.
Passers-by helped to intervene and force him to flee before police arrived to take a statement.

The Carabinieri later released a statement confirming they had viewed CCTV footage and recognised the man as an ultra of another team who was already on a Daspo – order barring him from attending sporting events due to a history of violence.
