Pepe Reina says he wants to play ‘at least 150 games’ for Milan as he plays down rumours linking him to Chelsea.

The Spanish goalkeeper only joined the Rossoneri this summer, as a free agent, after his contract at Napoli expired.

However, uncertainty over the future of Gigio Donnarumma at San Siro has cast doubt over Reina’s own position at the club – with speculation he will look to leave if Donnarumma stays as number one.

However, uncertainty over the future of Gigio Donnarumma at San Siro has cast doubt over Reina’s own position at the club – with speculation he will look to leave if Donnarumma stays as number one.

“I have been lucky enough to play for great teams in my career and Milan is definitely one fo the most important,” Reina said following last night’s match against Manchester United.

“I am happy and honoured to wear this shirt and to have played in my first match.

“I want to play at least 150 matches in this shirt.”

Former Liverpool shot-stopper Reina played the second half of Milan’s 1-1 draw with the Red Devils, while he also featured heavily in the subsequent penalty shootout.

“I looked to help out, like always. It’s no usual that a goalkeeper takes penalties, but I had saved one, I was confident and I decided to take one.

“The important thing was to do well against a team who are physically in better shape than us.”
