Speaking while on Milan’s pre-season tour of the United States, the Turkey international reacted to the ‘mega-deal’ between the two clubs, which has finally been confirmed following a period of intense negotiations.

“I am very happy with the arrival of Higuain and Caldara,” Calhanoglu told Milan’s official television channel.

“But at the same time I am sad to say goodbye to Bonucci, a good person and a great player.

“I’m ready to provide assists for Gonzalo.

“This season we want to do better than in the last one. We have a lot more quality and we want to improve.”

The player is targeting more goals and assists for a club he ‘loves.’

“I want to work hard because Milan is like a family for me.

“They have been close to me when I have needed it. I love Milan, the fans and the city.

“I want to score more goals and get more assists.”
