Kaka believes Milan’s new-look management team has ‘rediscovered the club’s DNA and recovered their characteristics’.

Elliott Management’s Milan takeover was quickly followed by Gennaro Gattuso being reconfirmed as Coach, Leonardo returning as sporting director and Paolo Maldini coming back to assist the Brazilian.

“The priority for me is still being with my children Luca and Isabela, who are still young and live in Sao Paulo,” the trio’s former teammate told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Now it’s hard for me to leave them, so I’m not looking for any specific roles, plus I have to study and get to grips with these new ways of working.

“I’ll enrol on the course to become a sporting director in Brazil and then do a coaching course at Coverciano, but only to complete my craft.

“I see myself more as a director, like Leonardo. He has experience, international contacts with FIFA and UEFA and worked for some great clubs.

“Leo did everything, travelled the world, is clever and also knows the world of communication well. He knows how to manage an important team.

“Paolo is the history, a ‘bandiera’ and an idol. If we talk about Milan around the world, we talk about Paolo and vice versa.

“Paolo means loyalty. I don’t want to say anything about the previous management, with whom I had some contact, but this one has something different because it’s rediscovered the Rossoneri DNA.

“It’s recovered the club’s characteristics, that sense of belonging. Leo and Paolo came back and Gattuso stayed on as Coach.

“Rino is one that brings ‘grinta’. He has the spirit of those who don’t give up. It was like that when he played and he’s the same as a Coach.

“Milan have taken the right path. I don’t know what Maldini will do at the club exactly. Probably he’ll have a similar role to Leonardo, but I’m sure they’ll work well together.”
