Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Gianluigi Buffon will be benched for their next two games, despite his ‘excellent’ start at the club.
Buffon conceded just one goal in his first three official appearances for PSG, but the former Juventus and Italy No 1 will nonetheless make way for ex-Roma target Alphonse Areola.
“I don’t like putting him on the bench, but Areola also needs rhythm so he’ll play against Angers and Reims. After that, we’ll see,” Coach Thomas Tuchel said at a Press conference.
