“We were in command for an hour and then just let go,” confessed the Coach on Milan TV.

“After their first goal we simply left the field and that is the biggest regret. We have to work on our mentality, interpreting the game as a squad.
“We are strong, we just need to correct a few mistakes, but it takes time and I know we don’t have much of that at our disposal.”
Napoli’s first goal gained particular focus, as Lucas Biglia was caught in possession.
“We are a team that involves everyone in the passing moves, not just Biglia. It wasn’t just Lucas who made a mistake on that goal, because Mateo Musacchio could’ve passed it back to the goalkeeper rather than put his teammate under undue pressure.
“Errors can happen, the important thing is to keep playing as a team and not lose our way when something goes wrong.”
Gonzalo Higuain made his competitive debut in a Milan jersey and Gattuso stood up for the striker.
“I am very happy with his performance, even if we could’ve given him better service. The two goals we scored were also thanks to his movement.”
There is already a huge test coming up for the Diavolo, as they host Roma on Friday evening.
“We’ve got to prepare well, because Roma are a strong side. We need to build on the positives we saw in Naples – and there are many, because you not everyone dominates at the Stadio San Paolo – and work on what didn’t go the way it should.”
