The 23-year-old Poland international was snapped up from Cracovia Krakow over the summer for €4.5m and has been an absolute sensation.

On his debut for the club, he scored four goals in a single Coppa Italia match.

He then went on to find the net in each of his five maiden Serie A appearances for a total of six goals, something no Genoa player had ever managed.

The last forward to score in his first four Serie A games was Andriy Shevchenko at Milan in 1999.

Piatek – pronounced Pyontek – is the first player in Europe’s top five leagues to reach double figures in all competition this season.
