Mauro Icardi described his goal to beat PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League and the importance of another victory.
The Argentine waited until the age of 25 to make his Champions League debut, but has now scored in both wins over Tottenham Hotspur and PSV Eindhoven.
“It was a wonderful evening in Eindhoven and important to win, considering the way the group is developing,” Icardi told Inter TV.
The Nerazzurri are joint top with Barcelona, leaving Tottenham behind on zero points.
“After the victory over Tottenham at San Siro, we knew that we had to go for the three points with PSV too. I saw the long Matias Vecino ball and believed I could get to it, but then was fortunate that the goalkeeper collided with his teammate, leaving the goal empty for me.
“My objective, other than the goals, is to win with the team. If other achievements arrive on a personal level too, then that’s good.
“The most important thing is that Inter continue to win. We haven’t much time to prepare against SPAL this weekend, but when you win, there is always a smile and the work feels easier.”
