James Pallotta has blasted the Italian Press for ‘making up imaginary conversations’ that he allegedly held after Roma’s 2-0 defeat to SPAL.

Corriere dello Sport reported on Sunday that Pallotta was ‘furious and ready to axe Euseio Di Francesco’ following the result but was convinced to wait by Roma consultant Franco Baldini.

However, the President hit back via the Giallorossi’s official Twitter account: “Contrary to certain articles in today’s Italian media, I didn’t speak to Franco Baldini, Monchi, Mauro Baldissoni or Alex Zecca after the match about the Coach and any journalists reporting on imaginary conversations are simply making [things] up.”

Next up for the Lupi is a home match against CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Tuesday.
