Milan are appealing against the bans handed out to Andrea Conti and Paolo Maldini, after they berated a referee.

Following a Primavera game against Chievo, Conti was found to have “caught up with the referee at the door of his locker room, prevented him from closing the door by punching it twice and in the same circumstance aiming an insulting term at the referee with very loud shouting that only subsided after the official repeatedly asked him to stop”.

The full-back was given a three-match ban as a result, while director Maldini was also given a ban for entering the referee’s room and insulting him.

According to ANSA, the Rossoneri have filed an appeal, amid rumours that the official acted inappropriately.

While there has been no official comment from the club, it has been suggested he mocked Daniel Maldini, as well as mocking one of the players for wearing braces and another for being “fat”.
