Enrico Preziosi claims Genoa are playing better under Ivan Juric, Krzysztof Piatek ‘will be back scoring soon’ and Christian Kouame is a ‘star’ in the making.

Genoa are winless in five games under Juric, who is back at the Rossoblu for a third spell, and Piatek has failed to score in that time, whereas Kouame found the net against Napoli and assisted a goal at Milan.

“The team showed some encouraging signs and we no longer have any episodes like we did under Ballardini,” the President told Il Secolo XIX.

“All of us, however, are tied to results and they’re crucial. We have to start winning again, and now we have two weeks to prepare for the derby.

“I’m not worried about Piatek because even on Saturday, he had some chances and he’ll be back scoring soon.

“Kouame is a star, with enormous room for improvement. He’s generous and he has a different kind of physicality to the others.

“He has impressive physical power, plus he’s very versatile. I’m convinced that he’ll do great things this season, although he’ll give us even more satisfaction next year.

“We don’t talk about the market here, but he’ll stay with us.”
