Udinese have officially fired Coach Julio Velazquez and appointed Davide Nicola as his replacement.
Director of sport Daniele Pradè had confirmed after the defeat to Empoli on Sunday that the club would “take 24-48 hours to reflect.”
The Spanish tactician managed two wins, three draws and eight losses in all competition.
Recent form was particularly poor, picking up just one point in the last seven Serie A rounds.
Along with Velazquez, Udinese also dismissed assistants Jimenez Serrano Julian, Baltanas Vicente Miguel and Huguet Cots Marc.
Udinese have formally chosen Nicola as their new Coach until June 2020, his first job since Crotone sacked him in December 2017.
Nicola had also been heavily linked with the Genoa job in case Ivan Juric was dismissed.
His previous jobs were at Lumezzane, Livorno and Bari.
Nicola will be presented to the media on Wednesday.
