Former Milan goalkeeper Dida believes Lucas Paqueta will ‘adapt perfectly’ to the Rossoneri but warns he is not the new Kaka.
Milan have splashed out €35m on Paqueta, whose profile as a Brazilian attacking midfielder has inevitably seen him compared to Kaka, while he is joining the Diavolo aged 21 like his countryman.
“I’m sure he’ll do well for Milan,” Dida told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I only saw a bit of him at Flamengo but enough for me to realise his strength and characteristics: he’s a talent that everyone’s talking about in Brazil.
“However, I’ll say that for his pace and technique, he’ll do very well in Serie A. Comparisons with Ricky? No, but it’s not an issue of quality.
“Kaka was a No 10, whereas I’ve seen Paqueta play deeper, as a midfielder, or further afield, as a false nine.
“I’ve followed Milan for the last few weeks and he can adapt to them perfectly: this is a young Milan and I heard about Donnarumma’s great saves against Torino in Brazil.”
