Coach Leonardo Semplici was not entirely satisfied with SPAL's draw against Chievo, but he is impressed with winger Manuel Lazzari.

The game ended with clean sheets on both sides, meaning that SPAL are still only five points above the dreaded relegation zone.

“I have nothing to reproach my lads in terms of their effort and spirit," said Semplici at the end of the game. "The performance was a solid one, against a team in good shape.

“I have nothing to reproach my lads in terms of their effort and spirit," said Semplici at the end of the game. "The performance was a solid one, against a team in good shape.

"We played the game the way we had prepared it. Sooner or later we'll bag those three points, which will really give our campaign a boost.

"People in football tend to be a bit too forgetful. Our team has always given its all, and ever since I've been here we've had unity of purpose. The curva applauded us, and this fills us with pride, because our fans are essential.”

Once again, Lazzari created most of the dangerous situations for SPAL today, but was disappointed at his own finishing.

"Manuel [Lazzarri] really developed, and so did some of my other players. He is never satisfied, he started out from the amateur leagues, he reached the national team, and now he has caught the eye of some heavy-weight clubs."
