Independiente President Hugo Moyano confirms he discussed Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez with Atalanta, but there is “nothing definite.”
The 30-year-old’s performances in Bergamo recently earned him his senior international debut for Argentina.
“We have had a conversation for Gomez, but there is nothing definite in it,” Moyano told Radio 10.
“I am the one who has the last word when defining deals.”

It is considered improbable that Papu will go to Independiente, as he hasn’t played in Argentina since 2010.
He spent most of his career in Italy with Catania and Atalanta, with a brief spell at Metalist Kharkiv in 2013-14.
