After the 3-0 victory over Sampdoria, Ancelotti confirmed to Sky Sport Italia that Hamsik was “in negotiations and wants this new experience” in China.
There are differing reports over what figures are being discussed, as Sportitalia claim it’s €25m for the transfer fee, whereas Sky Sport Italia point to €15m.
Both seem to believe Hamsik will receive a salary worth €9m per year.
“We have the same possibility of progressing in the Europa League even without Hamsik, as we have many alternative solutions,” said Ancelotti in his Press conference.
“We are not looking for Hamsik look-a-likes, because there aren’t any, but we do have players who can interpret that midfield role with different characteristics.
“Hamsik has been fundamental in building play from the back and provided an assist today as well, but Fabian Ruiz did the same against Lazio, albeit in a slightly different way.”
