Chelsea are reportedly considering letting Maurizio Sarri make way for ex-Juventus midfielder Zinedine Zidane.
According to The Sun, which runs the story as an exclusive, Sarri is ‘running out of backers’ at Chelsea, while there is ‘growing support’ for Zidane.
The Frenchman is currently out of work after leaving Real Madrid at the end of last season, and the newspaper explains he is ‘very keen’ on moving to the Premier League.
Furthermore, Zidane’s appointment would ‘encourage’ Eden Hazard to sign a new contract, given he idolises the former Blancos boss.
The iconic midfielder led Madrid to three consecutive Champions Leagues and a Spanish title between 2016 and 2018.
Sarri, on the other hand, is reportedly facing a player revolt after recent heavy defeats, although he still has an EFL Cup Final to look forward to.
