Diego Perotti has affirmed that Coach Eusebio Di Francesco has the ‘100 percent’ backing of the Roma squad.

Di Francesco is thought to be playing for his future on Wednesday, when Roma face Porto in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

Nonetheless, Perotti said alongside his boss at a Press conference: “The team are 100 percent behind the Coach and we’ve got to prove it on the pitch.

“Words are not enough. We’ve got to win, not just for him, but for all of Roma: club, fans and history.

“Words are not enough. We’ve got to win, not just for him, but for all of Roma: club, fans and history.

“We have this small advantage from the first leg and we want to use it, but are also aware that if we score, it becomes far more complicated for them. We can’t think only about the first leg result.

“I remember with Sevilla we won 1-0 here in 2011, but still didn’t go through. Porto are so strong at home and it won’t be easy for us.”

A string of injuries have limited the Argentine winger to just seven appearances this season…

“I’ve had a lot of injuries lately and it’s been tough to sit on the outside,” admitted the 30-year-old.

“If I play, I’ll give all of myself to reach the quarter-finals. The worst thing about being out of action is the feeling you are unable to help.

“It’s not easy to find your form and fitness at this level and it’s even tougher when you’re 30 rather than 20.”
