Stefano Sensi had a special dedication for his debut Italy goal in the 6-0 victory over Liechtenstein. “It was an unforgettable evening.”

The Sassuolo midfielder had only one previous Azzurri cap at senior level, in November’s friendly against the USA, but he opened the scoring in tonight’s rout.

“It was an unforgettable evening, as you can never forget your first Italy goal, much like the first in Serie A,” he told Rai Sport.

“It was an unforgettable evening, as you can never forget your first Italy goal, much like the first in Serie A,” he told Rai Sport.

“We put the right spirit into the game and a winning mentality right from the start. We never lost concentration.”

Coach Roberto Mancini made seven changes to the line-up for this Euro 2020 qualifier, after Saturday’s 2-0 win over Finland.

“I get along well with Marco Verratti and Jorginho, as they set the tempo, have quality and are champions, so it’s easy to play with them.

“I dedicate the goal to my girlfriend and my family, who were in the stands tonight.”
