“I expect a difficult game against a team in very good shape. Torino have one of the stingiest defences in Serie A, but we really want to step on the gas now,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“Torino have a good work-rate and mentality, so it’s going to be quite a physical battle on the field.”

When it comes to midfield battles, nobody likes to get stuck in more than Nicolò Barella.

“He’s been unlucky not to score more goals this season, as he hit the woodwork a few times and missed the penalty with Inter, but he always goes for it. The important thing is that he shoots and then he’ll keep working on his finishing.

“Unfortunately, Fabrizio Cacciatore and Alessandro Deiola picked up injuries and won’t be taking part. Darijo Srna isn’t fully fit either and needs a fitness test, while I’m not sure how many minutes Ragnar Klavan has in his legs.”

Luca Ceppitelli is suspended, so the Sardinians are somewhat short-staffed in defence.

Cagliari squad for Torino: Rafael, Pellegrini, Bradaric, Cigarini, Cerri, Joao Pedro, Birsa, Klavan, Aresti, Oliva, Barella, Pisacane, Padoin, Ionita, Lykogiannis, Faragò, Leverbe, Cragno, Pavoletti, Despodov, Srna, Romagna, Thereau
