Napoli are interested in signing Empoli’s Algerian midfielder Ismael Bennacer for next season, according to reports.

The Partenopei have a track record of shopping at the Stadio Carlo Castellani, with current players Mario Rui and Elseid Hysaj joining from the Tuscan side.

Ex-Coach Maurizio Sarri and Mirko Valdifiori were the first of the ex-Empoli contingent to arrive at the San Paolo, followed shortly by defender Lorenzo Tonelli.

Calcionews24.com reports that Coach Carlo Ancelotti has had his eye on 21-year-old tenacious midfielder Bennacer, who has played 32 times in Serie A this season.

The Algeria international joined Empoli from Arsenal where he spent time with their youth team and the Gunners apparently had a first-choice buyback option added to the terms of his sale to the Tuscan club.
