Senad Lulic said Lazio’s 1-0 Coppa Italia semi-final victory over Milan “was certainly deserved. We knew sooner or later we’d score.”
The first leg ended 0-0 in Rome, but Joaquin Correa completed a counter-attack from the Rossoneri corner to secure a 1-0 result both on the night and on aggregate.
“It was certainly deserved, as we played as a team, fought and suffered together. We knew sooner or later we’d score with the quality we have upfront,” Lulic told Rai Sport.
“It was a struggle, but now we leave the Coppa Italia aside until we reach the Final. This is Lazio, if we play like this, then we can fight it out with anyone.
“Admittedly, there was more motivation tonight than against Chievo last week and we had a different approach.
“The applause to players and staff is fully deserved, as was the victory.”
Lazio will face the winners of Atalanta-Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia Final, a one-off match at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
