Genoa midfielder Stefano Sturaro is expected to be out until October after damaging knee ligaments.

Sturaro was stretchered off during Genoa’s 1-1 draw with SPAL last weekend, and Genoa confirmed he would have a consultation on Friday.

ANSA, however, believes the former Juventus man will need surgery and that ‘a five-month layoff is planned.’

The 26-year-old became the Grifone’s record signing when he returned from Juve in January.
