Parma Coach Roberto D’Aversa believes that his side will have "come full circle" if they find the points to ensure their stay in the top flight after demotion to Serie D.

The Gialloblu were relegated to the fourth tier in 2015 following bankruptcy and climbed up through the divisions with an all-time Italian record of three consecutive promotions.

“We are focused on finishing the club’s good work of reaching Serie A from D in record time, it would mean we have come full circle,” he said in his Press conference.

The Ducali sit in 15th place on 37 points and face the Blucerchiati today knowing that a win would guarantee them mathematical safety.

“It will be a difficult game against Samp, but we want to reach our goal at all costs, we are almost there.

“Marco Giampaolo uses a 4-3-1-2 system and his team play with an excellent football philosophy. They have many qualities both in the defensive and offensive areas of the pitch.

“Fabio Quagliarella is their top goal scorer, but he doesn’t score all those goals on his own, he has help from a good team that are playing at a high level and that is why he gets so many chances.

“We have to go into this game knowing the importance that it has to our goal of staying up, while at the same time not letting the tension build up too much.

“We will need intensity and determination. The boys have done an extraordinary job this season, despite all the difficulties we had to face.

“We will need our fans to help us reach our goal, there are only four games left and we are running out of time, but safety is really close.

“We must always have the right attitude regardless of what formation we play, and our intensity in training has always been very high, even if it sometimes fails to translate onto the field.

“We need to concentrate and don’t want to give anything away at the back. Even last Sunday we could have reached mathematical safety, as we went ahead in the game with Chievo, but in the end we just couldn’t take home the three points.”
