Fiorentina defender German Pezzella will require surgery after fracturing his cheekbone, eye socket and mandible.
A statement from the club confirmed the Argentine was diagnosed with the fracture of the cheekbone, eye socket and mandible on the right side of the face.
It occurred during a collision in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Empoli.
He is due to undergo surgery to stabilise the fracture and only after that will the Viola medics give a clearer idea of the recovery time.
