The table has tightened up considerably this weekend, with Empoli in the drop zone now on 35 points, Genoa 36, Udinese and Bologna 37, plus Parma 38.

“Today’s results don’t change anything for us,” said D’Aversa in a pre-match Press conference.

“It doesn’t matter that both Empoli and Udinese won, our goal remains the same, we must achieve mathematical safety and to do so we must beat Bologna.

“We will try and get the most out of our potential and play the way we are capable of doing. The Rossoblu under Sinisa Mihajlovic are a different team.

“They are aggressive, brave and play with intensity, and that mirrors the style of their Coach. Tomorrow it will be important to get our approach right as it is, after all, a derby.

“They are a team that plays well even if they don’t pick up full points, such as in last week’s defeat to Milan. It will be a difficult game, but we want to reach our goal.”
