Bologna Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic was ecstatic after his side defeated Parma 4-1. “That was our best game since I came back here.”
The Rossoblu won 4-1 against the Gialloblu at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, which left them just one point away from mathematical safety.
“I’m very happy, that was probably the best game since I came back here,” the Serbian tactician told Sky Sport Italia after the match.
“The boys never gave up, even when they went two goals ahead. I’m happy for them, the credit is all theirs.”
Bologna were in the drop zone when Mihajlovic replaced Pippo Inzaghi, but this was their sixth consecutive Serie A home victory.
“Since I took over, they have done everything I have asked of them. We were well prepared for this game. They are confident when they go out onto the pitch.
“We are still not mathematically safe yet, but we have done a great job in catching up with the teams that were ahead of us and our job now is to get as high up the table as we can.
“There is a big difference between finishing 15th or 11th we will enjoy this victory, but we still need one more point.”
Towards the end of the game, the crowd at the Stadio Dall’Ara started chanting an appeal for Mihajlovic to stay.
“I’m very happy here and I’m also pleased with the affection the fans give me, but their praise should be for the players, not me.
“If I have done well, it is because of the players. I worked a lot on their mentality when I arrived, I wanted them to believe in themselves and play with determination, we always play to win now and you can see that attitude on the pitch.”
