Coach Roberto D’Aversa warned there “can’t be any excuses” after a 4-1 loss to Bologna left Parma just three points above the drop zone.

The Gialloblu were beaten 4-1 at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara this evening, and that defeat made it eight games in a row without a win in Serie A.

“There is definitely regret and unhappiness about that defeat tonight,” the 43-year-old tactician told Sky Sport Italia.

“We all have to take responsibility for that result. You can lose a game, but not like that. We can’t give any excuses, but Bologna were superior in every part of the pitch.”

Bologna have now leapfrogged Parma and the Ducali are only three points clear of the relegation zone with two rounds left.

“Luckily, our destiny is still in our hands, we need to recharge our batteries, but it won’t be easy to bounce back after such a heavy defeat.

“In the next match, we will have to go out onto the field with determination and concentration to try and achieve our goal of safety.”

The Crociati haven’t won since beating Genoa 1-0 at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on March 9 and face Fiorentina at home in their next fixture, before traveling to the Stadio Olimpico to face Roma on the final day of the season.

Bruno Alves will be suspended, as he was sent off today.
