Skriniar extended his contract with Inter until 2023 on Thursday, and the defender expressed his utmost commitment to the club’s clause.

“I’m happy and proud to be able to wear this shirt for three more years,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“I broke up with my agent and negotiated with the club personally. We’re a win away from returning to the Champions League, which is the most important thing. We want to get even better next season.

“I’ve grown very quickly at Inter. I did well in my first few matches for them and the Coach immediately gave me confidence.

“Let’s think about our next two games first, then we can rest easy and think about shortening the gap with Juve. We have to start next season at 100 percent.

With top four all-but-secure, the Slovak has his eyes on another feat…

“I haven’t scored any goals this season. I hope to do so in the next two games. I miss them. They would give me even more confidence,” he concluded.
