Genoa President Enrico Preziosi has branded talk of a possible takeover by Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani a ‘fabrication’.

Journalist Matteo Pedrosi had suggested that Radrizzani was planning to pull the plug on his investment in Leeds and move back to Italy with Genoa.

In turn, Qatar Sports Investments would pursue a deal to buy the English club as opposed to Roma.

However, Preziosi told Sky Sport Italia: “If there’s someone more capable than me then the club are available, but the indiscretion concerning the Leeds owner is a fabrication.

He added to Rai Sport: “I’ve always said that there’s a moment to start and finish, but in football you have to understand the moment to finish.

“There are serious and capable people out there and there will be negotiations.”
