New Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso has vowed ‘not to sell off our assets’ and ‘hopes’ to keep wantaway winger Federico Chiesa.

Commisso’s deal to buy Fiorentina will go through by the end of the week, having seen a previous attempt to take over Milan fall through.

“I’d sworn not to talk, but you came here,” the Italo-American billionaire told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Commisso’s deal to buy Fiorentina will go through by the end of the week, having seen a previous attempt to take over Milan fall through.

“I’d sworn not to talk, but you came here,” the Italo-American billionaire told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I like football, but I’ve only seen two matches in Italy, one at San Siro and the other in Udine, but before they renovated the stadium.”

The 69-year-old was then asked whether he would try to keep Chiesa, who has been linked with Juventus and Inter.

“We hope so, yes,” he concluded, before adding to Corriere dello Sport: “I’m here to win, not sell off our assets.”
