Napoli reportedly turned down Atletico Madrid’s €18m offer for Elseid Hysaj, as the right-back says he’s in no rush to leave.

According to ESPN, the Rojiblancos have bid €18m for the Albania international, but Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis turned them down, deeming the offer not high enough.

In recent days the player’s agent confirmed that the defender was looking to leave the club in the summer, stating the Spanish side is one of many teams interested in his signature.

In recent days the player’s agent confirmed that the defender was looking to leave the club in the summer, stating the Spanish side is one of many teams interested in his signature.

However, while on international duty for the Euro 2020 qualifiers, Hysaj seemed to imply an exit was not guaranteed.

“I am not annoyed by the rumours going around. I have another two years on my contract with Napoli and right now I am focused on international football, then I’ll have a vacation.”

The 25-year-old joined Napoli from Empoli in 2015 for €5m and made 170 appearances during his time at the Stadio San Paolo.
