The transfer is pending a medical.

Nicknamed the French Gianluigi Donnarumma for making his Ligue 1 debut at the age of 16, Lafont was strong on shots, but tended to have some problems with crosses and set plays.

“Alban told me a long time before the end of the season that he was not happy at Fiorentina for various reasons,” father Rolland Lafont told Fiorentinanews.com.

“Then an interesting offer came along and Fiorentina did not oppose the transfer request. Fiorentina wanted initially to keep my son as the first choice and we knew that, but it was Alban who made a different decision, with all due respect for the club and fans.”

The Tuscans already have a replacement in-house, as Bartlomiej Dragowski was very impressive during his six-month loan spell at Empoli.
