Cagliari reportedly want to offer Inter target Nicolo Barella a new contract with a €50m release clause.

Barella is ready to join Inter, who have a clear track towards the midfielder after Roma pulled out yesterday.

However, they have yet to agree a fee with Cagliari and their task could be about to get harder.

That is because, as per L’Unione Sarda, Rossoblu President Tommaso Giuliani intends to double the starlet’s salary and insert a €50m release clause into his new deal.

Furthermore, the 22-year-old would have given his ‘maximum availability’ to the idea as he is ‘very attached’ to his hometown club.

The Nerazzurri, on the other hand, do not seem willing to go beyond €36m plus €4m in bonuses.
