Milan director Paolo Maldini insists they intend to “keep Gianluigi Donnarumma for a very long time. The objective is to be competitive as soon as possible.”
The Rossoneri presented new Coach Marco Giampaolo today, with Maldini and Zvonimir Boban also answering questions.
“The choice of Zvone and Ricky Massara as directors is because the objective is to be competitive again as soon as possible. We picked Giampaolo along with the club and directors.
“The fans understood this moment in Milan’s history, they already proved that last season. We finished one point off the Champions League places.
“The flame is lit and we just need to make it burn brighter. Our objective is not to win, but to improve last season’s position and get back to the top as soon as possible.”
It has been reported Milan want to sell Donnarumma in order to fund other transfer deals, but Maldini assured that was not the case.
“The idea we have right now is to keep Donnarumma for a very long time. At this moment, that is our position.”
