Sky Sport Italia claim Benfica infuriated Juventus with their statement on Mattia Perin’s failed medical, so FC Porto are ready to step in.
The rumours were circulating that the goalkeeper’s medical tests flagged up some issues, but negotiations were seemingly continuing behind the scenes.
The idea was and remains to make this a loan with obligation to buy once Perin has made several competitive appearances for Benfica.
However, the release of the statement from Benfica pointing out that the shoulder injury will require another four months to recover came without warning to Juventus.
This caused further tension between the two clubs, claim Sky Sport Italia, and the transfer is at risk.
He’ll return to Turin for treatment and more tests will be performed in four months, assuming the deal is still on by then.
With that in mind, FC Porto are keeping a close eye on the situation and called Juventus to ask for more information on Perin’s status.
