The Nerazzurri were almost always on the back foot in Singapore, rescued twice by the woodwork, and the only goal came from Mason Greenwood after Samir Handanovic’s save in this International Champions Cup opener.

“The positives I saw were in the effort and eagerness of the players, but there is a great deal to be improved in possession and when pressing,” warned Conte in his Press conference.

“These lads have a positive spirit, which is important in a moment of pre-season that is not easy, because we’re coming off some very intensive training sessions.”

The Coach seemed unhappy at the tight schedule of the International Champions Cup, as they’ll play Juventus on Wednesday in Nanjing.

“We need to work on everything, there is very limited time to recover from this match. We don’t just need to play games, but also train to better understand the various moments of the match.”

Conte was spotted after the final whistle chatting to Paul Pogba and Lukaku, the latter being a strong transfer target for Inter.

“It’s not right to ask about a Manchester United player at this moment. We must show great respect for the club and at the same time towards my players.

“I said yesterday that Lukaku is a player that I like. I like him, because I consider him a player who could improve our team, but on the one side there is my hope, my will, on the other side then we’ll see what we find with the club.”
