Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci admits he was not good enough last season and ‘wants to get back to what I was like two years ago.’
Bonucci returned to Juve from Milan last summer and helped them to another Scudetto, but some of his performances came in for criticism as the Old Lady failed in the Champions League and Coppa Italia.
The pressure is now on the 32-year-old to deliver following the €85.5m arrival of fellow centre-back Matthijs de Ligt.
“My objective is to help my team reach all their objectives,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“When the season starts, we have to think about them. On a personal level, I want to get back to what I was like two years ago and the standards the fans are used to seeing from me.”
