Cagliari scraped a late 1-1 draw with Serie C side Catania in this evening’s friendly thanks to Joao Pedro.
Radja Nainggolan was again in the starting XI, used in a trequartista role behind Alberto Cerri and Kwang-Song Han.
After an early save on Cerri, Catania took the surprise lead when Davis Curiale intercepted Fabio Pisacane’s back-pass and waltzed round goalkeeper Rafael.
Jacopo Dall’Oglio almost doubled their lead, denied by Rafael, while Han’s header skimmed the upright from a Fabrizio Cacciatore cross.
Alessandro Deiola went even closer after the restart, as he did rattled the frame of the goal with a left-foot strike.
Substitute Joao Pedro got the equaliser in the final minutes, sent through by Valter Birsa to lob the goalkeeper.
