Bologna stopped the team bus outside Sinisa Mihajlovic’s hospital room and he waved from the window while undergoing chemotherapy.
The Coach had been given special permission to be on the touchline for their first two Serie A games of the season against Verona and SPAL.
However, he just started the second course of chemotherapy for his leukaemia treatment and was therefore only able to communicate with the squad and staff via telephone.
Nonetheless, Rodrigo Palacio revealed Mihajlovic gave the half-time team talk that inspired them to fight back from 3-1 down to beat Brescia 4-3 this afternoon.
On the way home, Bologna stopped the team bus outside the Sant’Orsola Hospital’s cancer wing and the players chanted Mihajlovic’s name in the street.
The Coach leaned out the window and waved at the squad.
Bologna are still unbeaten and are level on seven points with Juventus.
