“It’s important for us to win and put in the same performance we saw against Sassuolo, with that same intensity and quality,” the full-back told Roma TV, referring to Sunday’s 4-2 Serie A victory.
“You wouldn’t say it was an easy fixture if you looked at the teamsheet, because there are real quality players in the Istanbul Basaksehir squad. We have to be very wary.
“It’s a big month and we want to get the season off on the right foot, which can give us greater confidence going forward.”
