Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed yesterday that he wanted to sign Ibrahimovic in January.

Now, Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting the 38-year-old wants a contract that takes him through to the summer of 2021, worth a total of €5m.

The newspaper adds the Partenopei are “studying the situation” but are only prepared to offer him €1.5m until the end of the season, with the option of extending for a further campaign for €3m, at this stage.

With that in mind, bonuses and image rights could play a key role in the Swede coming to the San Paolo.

The former Juventus, Inter and Milan hitman is due to become a free agent in December, when his contract with the Galaxy expires.
