Cagliari boss Rolando Maran warns there is still “a long way to go” after his side made history during their 1-1 draw at Torino.

Cagliari have set a club record since the introduction of the three-point format by picking up 15 points in their first nine games this season.

It leaves the Sardinians seventh in Serie A, but Maran insists he is not looking at the table just yet.

“After what we did, I am sorry that we didn’t win the game,” the Coach said after the match.

“After what we did, I am sorry that we didn’t win the game,” the Coach said after the match.

“Even after they equalised, we were still looking for another goal. This proves a change in mentality that is very important for me and my lads.

“The table is one of the last things I refer to. I prefer to concentrate on our development, proceed on our path and perform at our maximum potential. How much we will improve, only time will tell.

“The compliments are pleasing, but we know that the road ahead of us is a long one.”

Next up for the Rossoblu is a home fixture against Bologna on Wednesday.
