Immobile scored a brace when Lazio beat Torino 4-0 on Wednesday and is now on 12 goals in 10 Serie A matches this season.

His celebration caught some attention this week, as he held his hand to his forehead similar to the chicken celebration of Belotti.

However, the current Capocannoniere has now tried to set the record straight, explaining it stemmed from a joke in the physio’s office.

“It was something between Cataldi and I,” he said to Lazio Style Channel. “It’s called ‘chain mute’.

“When someone speaks in the physio’s office, Cataldi arrives and says ‘chain mute’, doing this gesture.”

The 29-year-old went on to praise his former Granata teammate, while assuring he would never steal his celebration.

“My hand looked like a crest, it’s true. If you see Cataldi’s video, he does it well. I didn’t have any bets with Belotti, the crest is his and you can’t touch it.

“Gallo’s an exceptional guy, it’s difficult to find people like him in this sport.”
