Milan, with only one win under coach Stefano Pioli so far, are without several key players.

Ismael Bennacer, who has become a regular under Pioli, is out through suspension along with Hakan Calhanoglu.

This means that Lucas Biglia should replace Bennacer, and Jack Bonaventura should step in for the Turkish international, chosen ahead of Ante Rebic and Rafael Leao.

Andrea Conti is likely to start ahead of Davide Calabria at right-back and Mateo Musacchio returns in central defence.

Samu Castillejo, Leo Duarte, Fabio Borini and Riccardo Rodriguez are all out through injury.

Napoli meanwhile are still working through their own crisis after a player mutiny has threatened to ruin their season.

Since the 1-1 draw with RB Salzburg and the aftermath that led to the players defying club orders and going home rather than retreating to the club hotel, the Parternopei have only played a single game, the 0-0 draw with Genoa.

They face Liverpool in the Champions League next week, and a defeat to Milan and a further loss to Liverpool could signal the end of Carlo Ancelotti's reign.

Faouzi Ghoulam and Mario Rui haven't made the trip, so Sebastiano Luperto should be re-routed to left-back.

Arkadiusz Milik is also out injured, so Chucky Lozano and Insigne could start up front for Napoli, scrapping the experiment of using the Italian wide left in a 4-4-2 formation.

Dries Mertens and Jose Callejon would drop to the bench, with Eljif Elmas and Fabian Ruiz used as the wingers instead.

Probable line-ups

Milan: G Donnarumma; Conti, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Theo Hernandez; Biglia, Paqueta, Krunic; Bonaventura, Suso, Piatek

Napoli: Meret; Di Lorenzo, Koulibaly, Manolas, Luperto; Elmas, Allan, Zielinski, Fabian Ruiz; Insigne, Lozano
