Inter confirm that Italy international Nicolò Barella requires surgery for his right knee injury.
The midfielder limped off during last night’s 3-0 Serie A victory away to Torino.
He was initially diagnosed with a sprained knee, but would need further tests to ascertain the extent of the damage.
A statement this afternoon confirmed Barella will need keyhole surgery to remove cartilage fragments, which became detached from the knee.
There is no word yet on how long he will be out for.
