Mourinho was speaking at a press conference ahead of Tottenham’s Champions League game against Olympiacos on Tuesday, where he shot down talk of a reunion with Ibrahimovic.

“I have more than a connection [with Ibrahimovic], amazing player, amazing guy, but I would say no chance,' affirmed the former Inter boss.

'We have the best striker in England. It doesn't make sense to sign him when we have Harry Kane.”

Spurs were linked with the 38-year-old just last week as a replacement for Fernando Llorente, who left for Napoli last summer.

Mourinho’s remarks seemingly pave the way for Milan to bring the Swede back to San Siro, where he enjoyed huge success between 2010 and 2012.

Ibrahimovic will become a free agent next month, when his contract with LA Galaxy expires.
